SUMMARY
STATEMENT:
- The Principal Integrated
Electronics Engineer provides engineering expertise in the field of
electronic systems and the combat systems environment.
- Provides specialized
technical support to combat systems/electronics division, other SRF
departments, and to the RSNF organization, particularly in the field of
alterations, modifications, and system testing/integration of combat
systems.
- Performs ship combat system alignments and supervises combat
system overhaul project.
- Provides technical guidance in the repair of the
following systems: Radar, Navigation, Weapons, Ship Electronic Systems.
- The
incumbent may be required to assume the duties of the Engineering Division
Superintendent in his absence.
- The incumbent shall be able to impart to
RSNF designated personnel the unique characteristics of the position.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor of Science
degree in an Electrical or Electronic Degree is required. A Master of
Science in Electronic Engineering is desired.
EXPERIENCE:
- Eight(8) years experience
in a combat systems engineering or electronics systems integration position
including six (6) years in the area of shipboard electronics and combat
systems.
- Progressively responsible positions in the field of electronics
systems integration.
- Experience in the following ship systems is desired:
Radar (AN/SPS-55, 40, 1007), IFF, Navigation, MK-92 Fire Control, Shipboard
Gun Mounts (MK-75, Emerlec, CIWS).
- Experience in the performance of ship
combat system alignments is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in the use of
personal computers using commercial work processing software is mandatory.
PHYSICAL AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior to occupancy of this
billet, the candidate must have passed a complete physical and dental
examination. He must be able to work in severe environmental conditions.
He must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English with
considerable experience in Engineering Report/correspondence development and
implementation. The ability to read, speak and write Arabic is desirable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
40% -Provides combat
systems/electronics engineering guidance and assistance in the maintenance
and repair of combat/electronics systems aboard RSNF ships.

20% -Provides
combat/electronics systems engineering services for related shore and
equipment.

15% -Participates in
developing technical recommendation for proposed alterations, modifications
and field changes to shipboard combat systems.

15% -Participate in
carrying out test procedures for the checkout and operation of the combat
systems and the electronics weapons interface.

10% -Coordinates,
conducts, and provides analysis for shipboard combat system alignments as
the SRF Combat systems Alignment Team Leader.
Performs other
duties as assigned.
The RSNF may designate this
billet as a training billet. The incumbent will be required to impart his
knowledge of duties and responsibilities in such a manner as to permit
assimilation on the part of the RSNF trainee. |
