SUMMARY
STATEMENT:
Provide engineering (technical) expertise and directions in all aspects of RSNF calibrations and metrology requirements.
Develop and evaluate the current and future calibration standards and equipment to meet technical and operational requirements for calibrations of RSNF Test Measuring, and Diagnosing Equipment (TMDE).
The incumbent should be able to impart to designate RSNF the unique characteristics of the position.
EDUCATION:
Holding a University Degree (BS) in the electronics/electrical engineering. In addition to the typical education Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) qualification.
Computer knowledge (hardware and software programming).
Exhibit the skill and competencies of the grade level should be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of six (6) years on hand experience in the metrology career field in commercial or military laboratories.
Expertise in at least one of the following areas: electronic equipment calibration or physical/dimensional calibration.
Measurement and automation (software and hardware) experience of CPIB, HP-IP, and IEEE 488 bus control would be advantageous.
Knowledge standards SO17025 is a plus.
PHYSICAL AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior to the occupancy of this billet, the incumbent must have passed a complete physical and dental examination. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical (engineering) directions and guidance in all aspects of calibration and metrology requirements.

Develop and evaluate calibration standards and equipment to meet technical and operational requirements for calibration of RSNF (TMDE).

Provide engineering direction and coordination to advance the state-of-the-art in metrology and calibration to keep pace with advancements in test equipment technology and requirements.

Develop a uniform metrology and instrumentation calibration procedures 9ICP) and documentation for use at all RSNF calibration activities.

Establish and adjust calibration intervals for RSNF and standards to meet reliability levels.

Determine the calibration standards and procedures requirements and recommended procurement actions to provide the required support.

Perform routine repair and calibration of TMDE and standard equipment.

Performs other
duties as assigned.The RSNF may designate this billet as a training billet.

The incumbent will be required to impart his knowledge of position-related skills, duties and responsibilities in such manner as to permit assimilation on the part of the RSNF trainee.
